fan of imeem before they sold out to myspace? pandora not playing the songs you want to hear when you want or sick of searching songs on youtube perhaps? just came across a new music site referred to me by a co-worker thats pretty bad ass from what i can see. from a glimpse it has a familiar imeem feel where you can search for songs specifically and listen right away. the speed in which they stream is pretty damn fast and at a good quality. registration so far for me was free and only took a few seconds. it seems you can setup your profile and create your own favorite playlists and share them between your friends and the community. while searching for songs or artists, options also appear for artists you might like or playlists that the songs are in.
real quickly i tried typing in some foreign music including lmf, drunken tiger, shiina ringo, dynamic duo, and even some underground names like nujabes and genelec & memphis reigns. its fucking ridiculous, although lmf only had a handful of songs, i got results! i even found some stuff i’ve never seen before. even if you don’t feel like registering and want to get a feel for the site, i found out by revisiting the site it saves the playlist you were making before and asks if you would like to retrieve the data.
i also see an option to upload music so i am assuming for any musicians out there it is simple enough to upload your music and share it to the public. there is a nifty link on the bottom right that randomly changes that allows access to vip access for around 3$ a month or 30$ a year; that just sounds absurdly cheap to me for what i’ve experienced on the site so far. i just hope they keep this system going and don’t get bought out by some shitty social site that will fuck everything up. *raises fist at imeem* i can definitely see this site growing and moving onto smartphones, if it hasn’t already. if i see anything else in my use that is negative in the upcoming weeks ill re-post but as of now i have a great alternative to a dead mp3 player at work.
check it out here at: http://listen.grooveshark.com
6 minutes later – edit: well, they DO have a app cross platform including android and iphones. you will not find pink floyd on grooveshark or probably any other streaming website as they have sued in terms of digital record sales. and grooveshark has evolved its paid p2p music sharing business into a million dollar + free web radio site since 2007. damn, why couldn’t i think of that? -_-

photography is a great example of how one can manipulate what an audience can see. the photographer captures any moment while choosing what they want to show, and how. a same instance from one point can tell a whole different story from another angle. no photoshop involved here at all; this is the story of how my brother made the leaning tower… lean.
on a serious note, there is always something going on behind the scenes. lets say that this photo WAS photoshopped, well someone had to sit down and edit it. naturally, the person in the picture usually gets the credit. what about films like the matrix or transformers? sure, neo is cool and all, but who thought of the characters? or created every mechanical part in the transformer for us to see on the big screen? am i saying that i want credit for this photo? not at all, because like i said, it isn’t edited. i simply took a photo of my brother acting like he was kicking down a tower that was already leaning.
so many people graduate and work jobs that isn’t even their degree. it makes you wonder what all that schooling was for. many people tend to find a job that they are better at anyways. most of years at school you end up learning other valuable skills other than your degree. some people tend to learn how to handle their liquor very well, other likes me learn how to work under pressure really fast, and get good at bullshitting. whatever it is, you will use it in your future.
everyone has had a moment where they think to themselves, “i could do that fuckers job so much better.” the truth is, you probably could, but that’s life. the bigger truth is, they probably thought the same of somebody else, got sick of it, and that’s why they could care less now. there’s no reason to worry about other people when you can’t even do your own job right.

movin’ on up! i’ve moved from the corner to an actual cubicle! workloads have doubled and if you haven’t noticed from the lack of updates, my days have been busier. i suppose that’s no excuse since i get off at the same time, but i have definitely gotten more lazy. time management has become hard and the discipline to stay on top of things with a busy schedule. exhibit is creeping near and i have slowly assembled an army of supplies in my basement. d-day will arrive soon and i hope i am well prepared. there will always be shitty days at work, and if you keep thinking about all the bad things, everyday will be a bad day. think about some of the funny things that happened and life isn’t so depressing. even if, hypothetically, someone special is ignoring you… o.O well anyways here’s some work time boredom, or what i like to call cubicular syndrome.

heres a few photos from the lily allen concert 2 weeks back. technically she can smoke on stage because its a… prop. great show, she sounds great live and accents just as sexy.

while on the subject of music, if your looking for some new music and haven’t heard of dynamic duo, check them out. i’d say they are hip hop with a dash of pop. their recent cd even has some techno flavor to it. my favorite is their 3rd album which is pictured above. one of the rappers, gaeko, does all the artwork for the duo’s albums. they are no amateurs to the scene though; if anyone remembers their old group CB MASS, the duo’s been around longer even before that.
check out one of their videos from the 3rd album: 출책

if your also looking for a new movie, i recently watched sakuran, and strongly recommend it. imagine memoirs of a geisha… with whores. its a very artsy film starring anna tsuchiya. the photography in the scenes were excellent and the color use put a modern vibe to the entire film which took place in japan’s past.
here’s a few random shots from my phone.

“now that’s some racist ass shit.” first thing that ran through my mind… what about you? now if this was in africa…

that bitch stole my fries!

“excuse me, do you know who drives that mercedes?”
umm me, whats up?
*snickers* “no really, do you know?”
*pulls out keys, unlocks* “no really, me?”
“oh, well we broke your windshield” *walks away*
haha whatever dude… *walks closer* WHAT THE FUCK
so eventually i took a picture with the girl from the softball team that broke my windshield… but i didn’t exactly tell her it was going on a blog so that wouldn’t be very ethical, but lets say she looked extremely scared while i’m throwing up a cheezy grin and a peace sign. for the record, it’s not my benz.

introducing the new rapper on the block, RICE CUBE! look for the new album coming out next entry. title to be a surprise, anybody that guesses it wins a free t-shirt! (no really)

if anyone is in the nile’s area in between assi super and h-mart (suburbs of chicago), check out booby’s located on milwaukee close to dempster. full slab of ribs for only $12.95! great selection of other foods from gyros, burgers, steak sandwhiches, pasta, and more.

oh how i love the pool hall, fish eye, and… poolhall junkies, another great watch if you’ve never seen it. recently watched afro samurai as well. it was suprisingly very well done, if you’re a fan of hip hop and samurai champloo, get on it! perhaps next time i’ll throw up some photos from random photo shoots for fun in the past…
last but not least, re-sized portfolio images have been added to the u|c website with a few new updates in the works (slowly but surely). i’ve been trying to get a friend of mine to share some of his writing abilities here but everyone seems busy these days (i promise he is better than me and much more interesting). check out his portfolio site coming soon at: tim gonzales. pieces til’ next time.

picked up killzone 2 friday and it is by far one of the best first person shooters i’ve ever played. graphics are crisp and the best i’ve seen, the environment and ambiance is well created, and the levels are designed for intense firefights. definitely a must play for any fps fan, the only issue that i would have would be the control sensitivity which feels slightly off. the online mode is equally as rewarding, especially with surround sound.

so i was brushing my teeth the other morning and totally dropped my hat into the toilet. you can bet you’ll see me wearing this hat again… after i wash it a few times. i can’t afford a new cap at the moment. =(

pizza hut pasta is the shit, doesn’t it look delectable.

just going through some old photos and came across the biggest blunt in the world. I DO NOT SMOKE, LET ALONE SMOKE UP, but i just couldn’t resist taking this picture.

so here is a $750,000 digital press at work, which constantly breaks down everyday. damn right i’ll be printing some of my work on this!

finally got in my new poster colours from korea; the medium i use for most of my colorful abstract pieces. i’ve been needing a new set for over a year now. it has similar qualities to that of tempera paint. two of my older sets unfortunately dried up =/. i will be creating a few new pieces within the next month or so before may’s exhibit. picked up the rest of my paintings from the ashland bar in chicago over the weekend. slowly, but surely getting ready for the next display. I am currently debating on displaying my work at Black Box Diamond Gallery in Hoffman Estates later in the year, but am going through a depressive stage i suppose. Hopefully the next update will have some progress work!
here are a few random youtube videos for your boredom.
