selling the past

it has been some time since the last post and a lot has happened. few favors and jobs have come through and that has really distracted me from doing the things i want. i haven’t had a chance to clean any of my pieces scattered around my basement let alone my workspace. i have always felt uncomfortable letting go of my work, even if i don’t think they are anything spectacular. it is the work you put into it and they become a part of you. i have finally decided it is time to get over that and sell, or give away, all my current works before i start the next exhibit set. i respect the people that take pride in their work, and are not embarrassed to share their creations. that doesn’t mean i appreciate cocky ignorant bastards who think they are the best, but it takes confidence to be happy with your work knowing that you have much more to learn.

if you are interested in purchasing or commissioning a personal piece, feel free to contact me through the urban.construkt website. i hope to be improving my skills and creating more at a faster pace in the coming months.

urban.construkt to me was about having fun and doing the things i liked. the last two jobs seem like everyday work and just a massive amount of stress. these are all stepping stones to a higher goal but it was never about the money. i hope to be coming back soon with new collaboration efforts we have planned.

my company is trying something new for a corporate demographic and if anybody is interested, feel free to submit your work. for any designs inkyzebra.com decides to use, you will receive $65 plus a 5% royalty payment for 24 months. the designs don’t have to be anything amazing, just simple, cute, designs that families and children will like. take a look at inkyzebra.com

hurtlocker

on another note, i haven’t had much time for movies or video games lately, but i did happen to catch a showing of the hurt locker. i’ve heard the script was written by a journalist who actually followed a bomb squad around iraq. it is a look into the human psyche, and i personally think it’s what jarhead should’ve been like. it has one of the best sniping scenes in my opinion and just a powerful story from a fresh perspective. the camera work makes you feel like the movie is a ticking time bomb and any scene could trigger an explosion. i can see why some may think the movie is slow, but perhaps they walked in expecting different things. check it out while you can in theaters, i definitely thought it was worth the drive to find a nearby theater that was playing it. check out the trailer below if you haven’t yet.
